Hunger Ministries

Food Pantries
Volunteers work in the three food pantries of the Northwest DuPage Walk-in Ministry, an ecumenical outreach of which our parish is a founding partner. Training is provided to assist families in need of help with food, rent, utility and healthcare bills as well as transportation. Contact Josie Sizemore 295-8364

Food Drives
Weekly Food Drive: People serving in this ministry collect food donated each weekend from the church gathering area and take it to our local food pantry. Contact Josie Sizemore, 295-8364.

Quarterly Food Drive: You can serve in this ministry by handing out reminder slips after all masses of the prior week of the drive. One the weekend of the drive you can serve by helping to collect the food in the food drive truck in the parking lot before all masses. Contact Josie Sizemore, 295-8364.

CropWalk
Participants gather pledges for this annual walkathon held each October in our community and throughout the U.S. to raise funds to fight hunger locally and worldwide. St. Isidore is hosting the event this year. Many workers and walkers are needed! Contact Josie Sizemore, 295-8364.

Organic Garden
St. Isidore, the patron saint of farmers, will bless those families or small groups of people who work together on a plot in our garden at the north end of the property. All produce is organically grown to be good stewards of the earth. The harvest is taken to our food pantries. Contact Josie Sizemore, 295-8364.

Franciscan Outreach Soup Kitchen
Parishioners are involved in two ways: Prepare food that will be taken downtown once per month and/or travel to Chicago's west side one weekend per month to serve hot meals to the poor and homeless at the Franciscan Outreach soup kitchen. Contact Josie Sizemore, 295-8364.
