A Note from the Office

A Note from the Pastor
I invite you to support my efforts to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research. I will be participating in a St. Baldrick Event in Naperville along with a group from the Addison Fire Protection District. If you are unaware what my participation involves, well it is pretty simple…basically, I am accepting donations that will be given to the charity and in exchange for your donations, I will shave my head and my beard. My goal is to raise $2,500.00 and your support is greatly appreciated. I am doing this in solidarity with all of the children and young people who lose their hair while undergoing cancer treatments. As you know, my father is a 5 time cancer survivor – so I am doing this to honor him and Keith B. and Josh Z. – survivors of adolescent cancer from 2 of my former parishes. I also do it in memory of Milagros, Jacob and all the other children whose funerals I have presided over in the past 20 years.
If you would like to make an anonymous donation you can just drop it in one of the boxes located in the narthex. If you would like to be recognized for your donation, you can fill out a donation form at the Hospitality Desk and make your cash or check (made out to “St. Baldricks Foundation”) donation there. You can also make an online donation with a credit card at www.stbaldricks.org/participants/FrJerry and click on “Make a Donation” or by calling (888) 899-BALD (2253).
The actual shaving event will take place at the Naperville Holiday Inn Select 1801 N. Naper Boulevard, on March 5th beginning at 6:00 PM and our shavings will take place at approximately 7:30 PM. There will be raffles, a silent auction, food and a cash bar at the event. This is a family event, so come on out and support our team! We’ll be easy to spot in our Addison Fire Department “uniforms”.
Thanks in advance for your support!
