(2009 - 2010 School Year)

We want to THANK the Chairpersons, Committee Members, Volunteers and Supporters of Home and School Association (H.S.A.) fundraisers and events. We can not do it without your participation! Here is an update of our H.S.A. activities.

In the first half of this school year, H.S.A. coordinated numerous fundraisers. Listed below is a summary of our income:

• Gold Party $ 263
• Magazine Sale * $2,680
• Market Day Gifts Life: Styles* $2,984
* 10% of these fundraisers go to the Parish Endowment Fund
• Fall Book Fair $2,513 in product vouchers for school library
• Santa’s Workshop $1,558
• Christmas Program Poinsettias $ 120
• Stratford Mall Points $ 500
• Family Dining Nights $ 355
• H.S.A. Start Up Fee $1,520

Fundraising Changes for H.S.A.:

Genesis Magazine / Football Mania: For several reasons, we plan to discontinue our annual Genesis Magazine Fundraiser for Fall 2010. We have enjoyed many years of success from this fundraiser, but have decided that it is time for a change. So, do not save your magazine renewals this year!  In place of this fundraiser, we will take over management of the Football Mania Fundraiser.  This is an exciting, new idea for us and we know it will prove to be a successful fundraiser for H.S.A.!

Tuition Credit for 2010-2011 School Year:  All families who participate in the Football Mania and Market Day Gifts fundraisers will receive 10% of their participation dollars in tuition credit! This is a great incentive!

With your support, we were able to achieve our goal of providing students and teachers with these “extras” that are not included in the school budget:

• Classroom and Teacher Start-up Fees
• Classroom and Teacher Requests
• Teacher Birthday Gift Cards and Candy
• New Parent Mentor Social
• Supplemented New Risers for the Music Department
• Cookies and Water for Jogathon
• Family Halloween Party
• Family Reading Night
• Support of Classroom Christmas Parties and Crafts
• Catholic Education Week Family Roller Skating Party and Wheel of Wisdom
• Catholic Education Week Raffle Items and Sock Hop Root Beer Floats
• Supplemented Bus Trip for Grades 4-8 to Feed My Starving Children
• Six Flags Read to Succeed – Six Hour Reading Club
• Purchased Playwrights for our 2010 Play “Fiddler on the Roof”

For the remaining school year, with your continued support, we hope to accomplish the following:

• Kindergarten Chicks
• First Grade Butterflies
• Fast Food Fridays

• Teacher Appreciation Week:  Flowers and Luncheon
• 8th Grade Dinner Dance decoration supplement

About

St. Isidore was a farm hand. He was born near Madrid, Spain in 1070. He attended mass every morning at a Madrid church before he set out for work as a farm laborer.  Isidore and his wife vowed celibacy in gratitude for a miracle which saved their son from drowning in a well. They were known for their holiness and care of the poor. St. Isidore died May 15, 1130. He was canonized with other Spaniards - St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Teresa of Avila on March 12, 1622.
