Dear Parents,

We are so quickly approaching the end of the school year! The students seem to be enjoying the many events that occur at this time of the year.

Lunch Parent Update – We are still in need of a few lunch parents. Please consider volunteering. All lunch parents must attend an inservice at the beginning of the year. Other than that, your commitment can be as little as twice per month.

School Supplies – If you would like to order school supplies through the school (Carlson’s), the order deadline is Monday, May 24th.

Looking for caring adoptive families – We have a few worm ranches that are looking for a summer home. They require little care, just some TLC. Please contact Mrs. Ryan (Gr. 1) if you are able to adopt one for the summer.

Still Need Lunch Parents – There is still a need for lunch parents in almost every class for almost every day. Thursday seems to be a day that is not filling in well. PLEASE consider this for next year. You can speak to Pilar Stompanato or Pam Martin if you are interested.

Six Flags Tickets – Watch your child’s brown envelope this week for his/her Six Flags ticket if he/she completed the reading requirement.

Next year’s calendar – Be sure to check the e-NVELOPE for next year’s calendar. Please use this when planning vacations, etc. Some dates might be changed if needed, so watch the monthly calendar.

Calling All Volunteers – We will thank and celebrate our volunteers next Wednesday, May 26 at our weekly mass. Please plan to be there if you are available.

H.S.A. News – H.S.A. is still looking to fill a few positions. See the e-NVELOPE for more information. You will also find information about the End of the Year Celebration and how you can help at the event.

Don’t forget to use the Oberweiss Coupons that are in the e-NVELOPE on Monday, May 24th. Also see the e-NVELOPE for Uniform Resale Info, Hands of Hope Info.

Bread for the World – Most of the students have written letters to one or both of the IL Senators asking them to support legislation that will help to end hunger in the world. See your brown envelope for information on how you can support this cause.

Summer School – Summer School information is in the e-NVELOPE again this week. Please complete the application and send in to school ASAP.

Preschool Open House – There are still several spaces in the 3 year old program for next year and a few in the 4 year old program. We will be hosting an Open House this SUNDAY, MAY 23rd after Sunday’s masses (8:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:30 and 1:00). Please invite your friends and neighbors to visit our great Preschool!

Save the Market Day Program – We are in desperate need of a new Market Day coordinator for next year. To keep this great program available, we need someone to coordinate it. Please contact Maria Mercola or the school office with questions.

Special Events – Next week there are a few special events for some of the grade levels:

"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the Lord is at hand" (James 5:7-8)

About

St. Isidore was a farm hand. He was born near Madrid, Spain in 1070. He attended mass every morning at a Madrid church before he set out for work as a farm laborer.  Isidore and his wife vowed celibacy in gratitude for a miracle which saved their son from drowning in a well. They were known for their holiness and care of the poor. St. Isidore died May 15, 1130. He was canonized with other Spaniards - St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Teresa of Avila on March 12, 1622.
